Privacy Policy

1. Who is responsible

Front Door is the data fiduciary for personal data processed to run the marketplace (accounts, bookings, payments, support, and app operations). Professionals who complete a job may see the customer details needed for that job and must use them only for that purpose.

2. Information we collect

Depending on how you use Front Door, we may collect:

• Identity and contact: name, phone number, email, profile photo.
• Address and location: service address, city, pincode, and (if you allow it) approximate or precise device location to show nearby services and tracking.
• Account and security: password (stored hashed), login tokens, device/app identifiers, language preference.
• Bookings: service chosen, date, time slot, notes, photos you upload, chat messages with support or the professional, job status, reviews, and ratings.
• Payments: amount, method, transaction reference, coupon, refund status. We do not store full card numbers. Payment partners process card/UPI data.
• Professionals: KYC or approval documents you submit, categories, availability, wallet and payout details, job history, and performance metrics.
• Technical data: IP address, browser or app version, crash logs, and cookies or similar identifiers on the website.
• Support: messages, call records where logged, and files you send to help resolve an issue.

3. How we use your information

• create and secure your account, and send OTPs or login alerts;
• take, assign, track, and complete bookings;
• show prices, apply coupons, collect payment, and issue invoices or refunds;
• pay professionals after commission and prevent duplicate or fraudulent credits;
• provide in-app chat, notifications, and customer or pro support;
• improve the website, app, and service catalogue, and measure performance;
• detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents;
• meet legal, tax, accounting, and dispute requirements;
• send service updates; marketing messages only where allowed and with an easy opt-out.

4. Legal basis

We process personal data because it is needed to perform the contract (your booking or pro account), because you have given consent (for example location or camera access on the phone), because we have a legitimate interest in running a safe marketplace, or because the law requires us to keep records.

5. App permissions

The Android/iOS app may ask for:

• Location — to suggest services near you and support live tracking where enabled.
• Camera — to scan a booking QR code or capture a profile / job photo.
• Photos / storage — to set a profile picture or attach images to a booking or ticket.

You can refuse or later disable a permission in system settings. Some features will not work without it.

6. Sharing

We share personal data only as needed:

• Professionals assigned to your job (name, phone, address, job details);
• Payment and messaging providers that process UPI, cards, SMS, or email;
• Hosting and infrastructure vendors who run our servers under contract;
• Authorities when required by law, court order, or to prevent harm or fraud;
• Business transfer if we merge or sell the business, with appropriate safeguards.

We do not sell your personal data to data brokers for money.

7. Cookies and similar tools

The website uses cookies and similar storage for login sessions, language, cart/checkout, and basic analytics. You can block cookies in your browser; then some pages may not stay logged in.

8. Retention

We keep account and booking records for as long as the account is active and for a reasonable period after closure to handle refunds, disputes, tax, and legal claims (typically up to the limitation period under Indian law, unless a longer period is required). Support chats and device logs may be kept for a shorter operational period.

9. Security

We use access controls, encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and limited staff access. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure. Please use a strong password and do not share OTPs. Tell us immediately if you think your account is compromised.

10. Your rights

Subject to the DPDP Act and other law, you may request to:

• access a summary of personal data we hold about you;
• correct inaccurate data;
• erase data that is no longer needed for the purpose it was collected, unless we must keep it;
• withdraw consent for optional processing (for example marketing or precise location);
• nominate a person to exercise rights in case of death or incapacity, where the law allows.

Write to support@frontdoor.in with the subject “Privacy request”. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within the time the law allows.

11. Children

The Platform is for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly create accounts for children. If you believe a minor has given us data, contact us and we will delete it where required.

12. International access

Our primary operations and hosting are intended for India. If a vendor stores or accesses data from another country, we will do so only as permitted under applicable law and with appropriate contractual safeguards.

14. Changes

We may update this Policy when our practices or the law change. The “Last updated” date at the top will change. Material changes may also be notified in the app or by email/SMS where appropriate. Continued use after the update means you accept the revised Policy.
